Troubleshooting guide
Blurry engraving usually comes from a setup variable: focus, loose material, speed, power, artwork resolution, or movement during the job. Use a short checklist before making a larger buying decision.
What to check first
- Check focus and repeat the same small test area before changing several settings at once.
- Hold the blank flat so leather, thin wood, coated cards, or acrylic cannot shift during the pass.
- Lower speed or power in small steps and record each test result beside the material name.
- Use clean vector artwork or a higher-resolution bitmap when small text looks soft.
- Compare material settings after the mechanical setup is repeatable.
Practical use cases
Small text
Start with focus and artwork quality before increasing power.
Leather or soft blanks
Check surface flatness and hold-down before judging detail.
Wood and acrylic
Run a small test grid so speed and power changes stay controlled.
