Plan the actual job
Use a cover whose supplier identifies its composition and suitability for laser processing. Avoid unknown synthetic leather. Choose a flat area away from the spine and elastic closure, then make a full-size paper placement guide. A removable reference template can help repeat the same corner offset across several books. Keep the name list and cover colors in the same order record to prevent a correct name going onto the wrong book.
