Decide where fingers will touch

A package insert may slide across merchandise every time the box moves. Those are different demands even when the engraving looks identical immediately after processing.
Before making laser samples, confirm the exact paper, dyes and coatings for the selected A1 Mini configuration and extraction arrangement. Reject unknown coated stock from the process. The plywood-label example is useful only as an analogy for documenting composition; it provides no paper-specific approval.

Judge the complete object
Imagine a 90 × 110 mm paper illustration intended for a frame. Check whether handling its unmarked margin and mounting it according to the framing-material supplier's directions leaves the image intact. Keep mounting components out of laser processing. If successful in the actual assembly, describe it as a protected display piece rather than a durable loose card.
Now imagine using the same design as an insert beside a fabric pouch. Place a fully processed, cooled sample in the intended package and reproduce ordinary packing and unpacking. Inspect both the paper and pouch for transferred residue. If the pouch becomes marked, the attractive first appearance is irrelevant to that use. Replace the medium or use a suitable non-laser printing method.
Do not infer long-term durability from one gentle touch. Document the contact you actually evaluated and avoid claims about washing, abrasion resistance or archival life that were not established. The purchase-avoided comparison only makes sense when the homemade object can perform the job of the purchased alternative.
A1 Mini and paper expectations
The current A1 Mini page lists a 120 × 130 mm engraving area. A design fitting that area still needs qualified material, supported processing and continuous supervision. Low power does not make paper fire-safe or guarantee a stable engraved surface.
Can hairspray or a clear spray fix the smudging?
Do not assume so. A forum suggestion does not establish compatibility, appearance or handling durability for your paper. Never laser a paper piece after applying an unapproved coating. Choosing another medium can be the appropriate finished solution.
Can I sell it if I call it delicate artwork?
Only describe the use it can actually support and package it accordingly. A warning does not make a handled product fit for purpose. If normal unpacking damages the image, resolve that failure before offering the piece as a gift or display object.
