When a customer adds rows to a LightBurn Merge/CSV job, check the saved End value before starting a longer production run. The file may contain 120 names while the project still cycles or stops at a previously set row. A longer data file does not necessarily change the output range stored in the job.
A LightBurn forum report on variable-text jobs raises an output progression problem after several impressions. The official Variable Text reference defines Start, Current and End, including the behavior when Current passes End. Inspect those controls in the software version actually used rather than assuming the forum's cause matches your job.
Reconcile rows before material is loaded
Keep one approved order list with a stable identifier for each record. Count the imported CSV rows and compare the first and last expected names with the visible software range. Set Current deliberately, then preview the beginning, a middle row and the final expected row. Check whether Next advances by one or by the number of objects in an array. Document the last produced record before any interruption so a restart does not duplicate or skip names.
- Save a copy of the last known-good project and CSV.
- Count records, including or excluding the header as the software expects.
- Confirm Start, Current, End and Advance By.
- Preview the final intended record and one boundary transition.
- Mark a low-cost sample before releasing the full sheet.
If the job unexpectedly wraps to a previous name, stop and reconcile actual physical pieces against the order list. Do not rely only on a software counter after a power or application interruption.
Place the workflow on X1S Pro
The TYVOK X1S Pro can be used for larger layouts where the selected controller and software support this workflow. Confirm the actual setup, known compatible blank material, focusing and safe fixture. Attend the laser and provide extraction. No throughput or automatic CSV validation is promised here.
A Test-visible but Preview-empty variable-text case addresses missing text before output. The older decimal label CSV versus serial guide helps when the problem is the content or formatting of a field instead of the range.
Does importing a new CSV reset End automatically?
Do not assume it does. Read the displayed values after every import and preview the last record you expect to produce.
What if the last five names are missing from a finished batch?
Hold the shipment, compare each physical item with the approved list and isolate the unmade records. Correct the range in a copied job and proof one item before making replacements.
